Please note:

• All returned products must be in their original, unworn condition and accompanied by all original documentation that was provided with the purchase.
• Earrings can not be returned for hygiene reasons , neither can bespoke items or rings that have been engraved.
• Returns without the lab-grown diamond certificate (where applicable) are subject to a £150 replacement fee for each missing card.

What is diamond certification?

A diamond certificate or grading report is proof that your diamond has been examined by a professional gemologist with specialised equipment at an independent lab. The certificate will list several characteristics of the diamond. This will include the Dimensions, Carat Weight, Clarity and Colour.

Why is it important?

There can be such subtle differences between diamonds with different grades that it becomes impossible to see with the naked eye, and it is these subtle differences that can impact the value of the diamond greatly. For this reason, it is important to ensure your diamond has been graded independently to give you confidence that the diamond you receive matches the diamond specification you have purchased.

When should I expect a certificate?

Here at Six Carats, we offer two types of IGI certificates - for individual diamonds of 0.50ct and over or for jewellery pieces. Diamonds under 0.50ct will not come with their own independent diamond certificate. This is our standard practice. 

GIA and IGI labs are widely recognised as the most prestigious and respected independent laboratories in the world. It must be noted not all laboratories are as strict as GIA and IGI. GIA and IGI set the standard when it comes to diamond grading. This is why GIA and IGI-certified diamonds tend to be sold at a higher price than others.

Additionally, from a practical standpoint, we aim to provide you with an optimal means to protect and store your jewellery. That's why every item we sell comes in one of our luxurious gift boxes. Beautiful packaging doesn't have to be expensive, and we take pride in the fact that our sustainable outer packaging is approved by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), ensuring that its production doesn't harm the world's forests.

A "eye-clean" diamond lacks imperfections visible to the naked eye and offers excellent value, being more affordable than flawless (FL) or internally flawless (IF) diamonds, which are considerably more expensive. Consequently, the term "eye-clean" is employed to characterize the clarity of a diamond. Few buyers wish to observe visible inclusions in their diamonds. Hence, eye-clean establishes a standard for acceptable clarity, particularly for those without specific diamond knowledge.

What if the ring doesn't fit?

Don't panic -  people do not always get it right.  At Six Carats  we offer one free resizing within 60 Days. It means we will resize your ring or replace it free of cost as long as it is not damaged.

Please note: Full Eternity and bespoke rings cannot be resized rings that have been engraved will lose the engraving. For it to be engraved again there would be an additional charge of £35.

If you're planning a surprise proposal, measuring the ring can be both challenging and exciting. Here are some ideas:

If your partner has a frequently worn ring simply use our ring size tool provided by clicking here and place the ring on the circle that fits perfectly to determine the ring size accurately.

Other options include take that ring to a local jeweller and asking them to measure the ring for you.

Alternatively, once you have made that purchase we can send you a ring sizer for free.

Free, insured through FedEx or Royal Mail delivery within the UK and Internationally. Please note whilst International shipping is free you may be liable for import duties and other taxes when the item arrives in your desired country.

Each item is Made-to-Order. Once your order is hand-crafted (which takes up to 7 working days) and is ready for shipment, your jewellery will ship via our fully insured shipping partner for free.
